Council Director Message
Congratulations to Jolene Galvan, our CA member, for completing her CLP-A and ACR designations and is working on completing her TRIP designation. Your accomplishments have not gone unnoticed.
The past week of the fire disaster in Los Angeles has brought many of us into an feeling of helplessness. And many of us have been overwhelmed at work due to these fires. The loss is devastating but the loss of property can be replaced. Lives cannot. I have reached out to many of our members who were near the affected areas and found that they are all safe. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the fires.
I am looking forward to the Presidents’ meeting which being held on 1/15/2025 and the MAL meeting which will be on 2/12/2025, both via zoom. Our main discussion in both meetings is “How to increase Membership participation and how to build our local associations.
2025 is a voting year for both Region VII Vice President and the CA Council. Anyone interested in either of the positions need to complete a candidate form. RVP applications should be sent to Terri Brennan at terri.brennan@nationwide.com and CA Council Director applications should be emailed to myself at ca.councildirector@outlook.com. I hope that everyone will be looking at what you can do to improve IAIP on the Council level and apply for the position of either Director, PR Chair or Membership Development Chair. Several people come to mind when I think of the positions. If you are unsure if you can handle the position, please feel free to reach out to myself; Jolene Galvan, the current PR Chair; or Gina Thomas Patterson, the current Membership Development Chair. You may be more qualified than you think.
Regional Hub & International Convention is just around the corner. I hope to see as many Californians as possible in Oklahoma City in June.
