HAWAII COUNCIL DIRECTOR REPORT

From the start of my term on July 1 st , 2026, we have seen success with our monthly luncheons. They are usually filled with both members and non-members, interested in the various speakers and topics. Of the speakers, we’ve had Red Cross speak in August to discuss disaster relief from a boots on the ground perspective. This topic was all the more relevant for us when our own hurricane disaster hit the following week.

In September we had a speaker discuss the emergence of AI in the Insurance industry.

AI being a very hot button issue in our industry, this brought a larger number of non- member, corporate partners to our luncheon. Of the estimated 30 individuals at the luncheon, nearly half were non-individual members. With more interesting speakers at our luncheons, we are hoping to continue to grow our individual membership to bring new people to our association.

On the horizon, we have a “pauhana” social event coming up on 10/8 in collaboration with McLarens, MES Solutions, Paradigm, ECS, and Enlyte. These partners represent the broad range that insurance touches in our society. This would be another good opportunity to showcase HAIP’s footprint in our industry.

We also have the November Hawaii Council which will feature Region VII VP Terri Brennan.

Following that, we are also planning an HAIP Open House in January which will act as a kind of membership drive and showcase of HAIP’s past accomplishments.

We hope to enter 2027 strong with more events on the way.
